Introduction
As Ramadan approaches, U-GIS brings a unique twist to tradition with the mUngGISan event! Inspired by the Sundanese munggahan, a cherished gathering where people share a meal before the holy month of Ramadhan. mUngGISan adds an element of surprise and warmth. Participants not only enjoy a shared feast but also exchange anonymous letters and favorite foods, creating a heartfelt and meaningful experience.
On February 15, 2025, U-GIS hosted the much-anticipated mUngGISan event, bringing excitement and warmth to welcome Ramadan. The event kicked off with participants sharing their favorite foods and dietary restrictions, setting the stage for a unique experience. With a ticking clock adding to the thrill, each member set out on a mission, choosing a special meal for someone while penning a heartfelt anonymous letter. The anticipation peaked as everyone unwrapped their surprise, reading heartfelt messages and savoring the thoughtful treats they received. It was a celebration of togetherness, mystery, and the joy of giving!

Reaction of each member during the letter reading session

Adhisty started the first letter reading, “I didn’t expect to get these very heartfelt words, like having a secret admirer, hahaha.”
“I got this letter from my teammate when I was a city raiders, I was really happy to get a letter from him.“ Said Aldi, as a U-GIS member.
“Thank you, executioner, because there is a letter that can be a medium for us to convey our feelings in writing to each member. for those who gave me letters, thank you for the food and letters!“ Said Indri.
“Honestly, I was very touched by the letter, and also I am very grateful for it, because of the letter it turns out that the person who gave me this turned out to pay attention to little things like that to which I didn’t even know oh how come he can know that and that if I think it’s funny with small attention like that too and it makes me very touched.“ Said Cornelia.
Members’ rating of their food
The objective of this event is to get the food as close as possible to the preferences while being aware of the restrictions they stated prior to the food hunt.
“The food that I got, alhamdulillah, was fit to my liking and accurate to what I have explained earlier. I give it a 9/10 👌.“ Said Adhisty.
“It was like how I expected, still in my range of preference.“ Said Indri.
“Oohh, the food was accurate. He got me chicken and a jelly-like dessert. So, he definitely knew my favorite hohohohoo. Solid 9!“ said Aldi.
It was relieving to know that the members got their desired food, and it shows how considerate and attentive other U-GIS members are.

“Thanks for the romantic words, I felt really loved from the food and letters you gave me. I am overjoyed to know that there are people happy by our presence and always supporting us no matter what. All the best for you 🫶.“ Said Adhisty.

Wrapping this up, we as algojos would like to thank everyone; Pak Rama as our guide and our beloved U-Gisians for their participation and enthusiasm lighting this event in the darkness of MonJu (Monument Perjuangan) Park at 9 PM. Amidst the breezy night, our togetherness and laughter warmed up the atmosphere throughout till late at night. We hope this spirit is maintained and growing stronger from this very point till the unknown adventures ahead waiting to be tackled. Love you U-GIS 🥰
