Imagine a day filled with action, creativity, and adventure. That’s precisely what City Raiders Ultimate Challenges participants experienced—an extraordinary exploration event combining cultural, historical, and teamwork challenges in Bandung. Held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, by KUI Unisba, this event offered an unforgettable experience for those eager to discover Bandung in a fun and unique way.
“This event made me feel like a tourist who had just visited Bandung, and honestly, just one day joining the event gave me more knowledge about Bandung than I had in the two years I lived there,“ said Ayu, one of the participants.
Before the challenges began, participants were briefed on dress codes and essential items. Each team wore outfits representing their colors—red, blue, green, or yellow—and brought essential gear like cameras, backpacks, and comfortable shoes. There were three challenge categories: Easy Peasy, Intermediate, and Unfathomable.
Easy Peasy
Participants were tasked with simple yet creative activities, such as A group photo at the photo booth with unique and unconventional poses not typically seen in photobooths and posing uniquely in front of the Laswi statue.

“My most favorite mission was to get an uncommon picture from a photobox. Although it seemed like an ordinary mission, for some reason it felt touching, and thought that it was the funniest moment in my group. On top of that, we got a souvenir from our city raider”, said Ameena from the green team

Intermediate
These challenges required participants to step out of their comfort zones, like interviewing locals about Bandung’s first cinema and taking a photo in the middle of Braga during the rain in the coolest pose possible while wearing a poncho provided by the algojo.

Unfathomable
This category pushed participants’ creativity and courage with tasks like promoting Unisba to foreigners and performing pantomime in front of the hotel once visited by Charlie Chaplin.

“I loved the time when I met a stranger from Italy. It was randomly, and they were caught in my eyes out of nowhere. I get to talk to them even though the video’s audio isn’t heard. Also, when we randomly did the monthly meeting in front of the statues and asked the statue’s opinions. It was a blast!” said Sely from the blue team.
One of the most unforgettable moments was the mission involving algojo Adhisty to a haunted house, which led to a dramatic tussle over a shoe. “The most memorable challenge was when my teammates convinced one of the also to go to the haunted house. It was super chaotic :D” added Naura. Adhisty reflected on the chaos humorously: “My shoe became the sacrifice for this mission!”
Beyond the challenges, the event highlighted the spirit of teamwork. “The team’s togetherness was the best part,” Rafid said. “Adventuring, questing, getting all participants into struggles, and, of course, how each member got to know each other better,” added Krisna.
City Raiders Ultimate Challenges left a lasting impact on its participants. “To be honest, running after the Bandros bus and taking photos while waiting for the train to pass was amazing! I never thought something this random could happen during my fifth semester,” Tiara shared. “The most memorable challenge was waving at the people on the Bandros bus. Waving at random people gave me a sense of happiness. Doing that without a challenge would’ve been very embarrassing for me, but hey, we lost our sense of embarrassment during these challenges, and it WAS SUPER GREAT because we didn’t care what others thought of us at that time,” added Azzahra from the yellow team.
When asked, “What did you like most about the event?” Aldi from the Yellow Team enthusiastically responded, “Everything! I mean, we strolled around Braga. As someone who isn’t a local here, I learned so much about Bandung, especially the great places in Braga. What a memorable event!”. Then, Ioong from the Green Team added, “I just love doing those missions, cuz I feel like I’m on a TV show like Running Man!”
Overall, the City Raiders Ultimate Challenges was a busy yet thrilling event that participants believe should be held again in the future. “It seems like it should be held more than once in the future,” – Rafi from the red team. Are you ready for the next challenge?
