Introduction
Ramadan is a month of kindness, reminding us of the importance of sharing and strengthening social bonds. Sharing extends beyond material wealth to include time, attention, and love.
As narrated in At-Tirmizi, “Whoever feeds a fasting person will receive the same reward as the fasting person, without diminishing their reward in the slightest.”
Embracing the spirit of Ramadan, U-GIS introduced the Global Inspired Takjil (GIT) program, a new initiative designed to spread joy within the UNISBA Academic Community. GIT aims not only to share happiness but also to enhance U-GIS’s visibility among the Unisba Academic Community, foster social awareness, and benefit the surrounding environment. This program provides an opportunity to cultivate care and unity, strengthen relationships, and share joy. Additionally, GIT promotes teamwork and strengthens bonds among U-GIS members.
In line with the program’s purpose of sharing and spreading happiness, we prepared and distributed takjil to the Unisba Academic Community. The preparation, involving 140 portions of takjil, took place from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Following the Zuhr prayer, we held a briefing to ensure efficient and accurate distribution. We began by distributing takjil to our immediate neighbours, including those in the International Office. Subsequently, we moved towards the rectorate building until all the prepared takjil was distributed.
Feedback on GIT
Beyond sharing, we also valued the feedback from the Academic Community, which motivated and evaluated our activities.
“Hopefully, the activities carried out by the students who support internationalization at UNISBA will bring blessings and continue to support UNISBA’s journey to becoming a global institution,” said Vice Rector I, Prof. Ir. A. Harits Nu’man, M.T., Ph.D., IPM.
In an interview, Vice Rector II, Prof. Dr. Atih Rohaeti Dariah, S.E., M.Si., expressed her appreciation for the GIT program, describing it as an extraordinary surprise. “Never before has a student association remembered us and given gifts like this,” she stated. She emphasized that the gesture was about the gifts and the remarkable awareness to share and build friendships within the Academic Community. “This will undoubtedly positively impact you and our beloved institution, Unisba,” she concluded.
Vice Rector III, Mr Amrullah Hayatudin, SHI, M.Ag., highlighted GIT as a positive Ramadan program that enhances the blessings of fasting. “Hopefully, what U-GIS has implemented will benefit both U-GIS and UNISBA as a whole,” he said.
“Thank you, U-GIS Squad, for the surprise takjil,” said Vice Rector IV, Dr. Ratna Januarita, S.H., LL.M., M.H. She also expressed her hope that GIT would be a means for Allah’s blessings to reach everyone.
Mr. Akhmad Yusup, S.Sy., M.Sc., from the International Office staff, encouraged U-GIS members to maintain their academic focus despite their many programs. He concluded with a prayer: “May the programs organized by U-GIS continue and benefit the community.”
U-GIS Members’ Reflections on GIT
We also gathered feedback from U-GIS members (Ugisian) regarding their experiences with GIT.
“This is a new, exciting, and beneficial program, as nothing like it existed in Generation 1! It was incredibly enjoyable to share a significant recognition for U-GIS with the rectors, and I am extremely proud! Shout out to the algojo for making it a seamless success!” said Sely from the Faculty of Psychology.
“The event was exciting. From preparation to delivery, everyone worked together, enhancing student connections with the Academic Community. Hopefully, this event will continue and achieve its intended impact,” stated Krisna from the Faculty of Engineering.
Aliya, also from the Faculty of Psychology, shared that it was her first time participating in such an activity. She described the camaraderie during preparation and the heartwarming smiles and gratitude during distribution. “It felt so warm and beautiful!” she concluded.
“This event was unique and exciting, a new U-GIS program this year. It showcased excellent collaboration among members and strong support from the International Office. Hopefully, GIT will strengthen relationships with the Unisba Academic Community and foster kinship among U-GIS members,” said Anggita from the Faculty of Communication.
Reading the positive responses from both the Academic Community and Ugisian, we are incredibly grateful for their enthusiasm. GIT’s success was due to the collective effort of everyone involved. We are delighted with the outcome and the valuable lessons learned. As Aliya noted, the smiles and gratitude we received were truly heartwarming. We hope our efforts bring benefits and blessings to all and that all the good prayers are answered. Finally, to our beloved Ugisians, may we continue to be united and cherish our kinship always! Sending lots of love!
