On Sunday 26 May 2024, U-GIS (Unisba Global Inspired Society) held the first Board Game Day among students around members of U-GIS. This event was attended by many participants consisting of U-GIS members, students and lecturers.
UNISBA’s PWK studio turns into a place full of fun with these board games. From 9 AM to 4 PM, four board games are played.
Goals
Board games can strengthen relationships between players with different ways of playing. Apart from that, board games also train our skills and way of thinking.
“The goal is to strengthen the internalization of U-GIS and introduce international board games so that you have experience from playing board games yourself.” Said Krisna, the event steering committee.
“It’s the end of the semester, which generally means there’s a lot of assignments, so maybe just refresh ourself.” Addition of Ayu as the event steering committee.
Series of Events
This Board Game Day begins with the Munchkin and ends with the Cards Against Humanity, with two break times during prayer time.
1. Munchkin South Park
Munchkin is a card game based on the clichés and oddities of Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing games. Players compete to reach level 10 by slaying monsters, looting treasures, and using special powers and items.
“At the beginning, I was attacked by a monster at the start and ended up dying in the game, but after that I was able to level up quickly even though I didn’t win,” said Ayu as a player.
2. Herd Mentality
Herd Mentality is a funny and exciting guessing game for friends and family. It challenges players to think like a “pea” and guess the most common answer to a given question.
“This game tests our mainstream abilities, so in my opinion anti-mainstream should not be our mindset when playing this game.” Cornelia said as a player.
“When I managed to win playing the game, I immediately thought that being mainstream wasn’t that bad“. Said Ayu as the winner of the game.
“My favorite moment would be when I played ‘Sabi’ The game was fun, ‘Sabi’ was cute, and easy to play and I got new vocab from it”. Dhya said as a player.
3. Million Dollars Script
Million Dollars Script is a challenging word charades game that tests players’ knowledge on various topics. This game was inspired by the popular TV show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?“.
“The game I like the most is Million Dollar Script.” Cornelia said as a player.
“Krisna’s crazy idea about split bodies would have seemed really strange but it turned out to be approved.” Said Ayu as Krisna’s teammate.
4. Cards Against Humanity
Cards Against Humanity is a unique card game known for its dark, crazy and out of ordinary humor. This game challenges players to complete blank sentences with the funniest and most unexpected answer cards.
“In the last game, I was a bit surprised by the words on the cards“. Said Krisna as a player.
