International Office Unisba – As food is a universal language to embrace the diversity among nations, U-GIS (Unisba Global Inspired Society) initiated an International Food Fair and Awareness Day 2024 in the central of Universitas Islam Bandung (28/02/2024)
The Aquarium of Universitas Islam Bandung transformed into a vibrant global marketplace from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that captivated Unisba citizens while passing the booth during the event.
From the spices of the Middle East to the comforting warmth of Asian delicacies. Ranging from African Spices Chicken, Spinach Cannelloni, Taco, to Jalebi. The Head of Chef U-GIS offered customers something to tantalize every unique taste around the world.
“Head Chef had an important role because we have the responsibility to choose the menu and cook the ingredients precisely, but teamwork among other chefs is also crucial while serving the foods”, Cornelia said as a Head Chef of the European Region.
Besides serving cuisines from different continents, the fair also had the goal of spreading cultural awareness among customers through interesting infographics and explanations from the chef. The aim is to provide a global understanding for customers to know more about the country where the food originally came from
“The enthusiasm among customers was positive, so I think this is an effective way to spread global awareness, especially when we add about a valued heritage and history behind the cuisines”, Arini as a Head Chef of the American Region added.
While enjoying the African Spices Chicken, Mutiara, a student from Unisba said, “The variety of cuisine was captivating and made me want to eat the cuisine from all of the countries, the cuisine was delicious even though it was made by students, they are very talented”
As the first-ever International Food Fair held by U-GIS, the event was successfully engaged and reached more than 100 people to acknowledge global awareness through deliciousness.
