In December 2023, U-GIS members visited their respective faculties to introduce U-GIS and its members to the Faculty.
KUI-Unisba Global Inspired Society (U-GIS) Event News is a voluntary community (Volunteer) formed to support Unisba’s internationalization activities. The contribution of U-GIS members is in the form of providing services for international guests, providing guidance, and establishing meaningful friendships for international students, as well as at international events held by universities and faculties.
U-GIS members visited their respective faculties to meet the faculty leaders on this occasion. The U-GIS members introduced themselves as representatives of members from each faculty, also introduced what U-GIS is, and showed the various programs available at U-GIS. They emphasize the importance of cross-cultural communication and a global perspective in today’s interconnected world. Faculty leaders were enthusiastic when they realized the potential impact that U-GIS could have on students’ personal and professional growth.
Dr. Asnita Frida B. R. Sebayang, S.E., M.Si., The Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business said, “We hope that U-GIS can become a bridge for faculty and students regarding international activities or programs; apart from that, it can provide enthusiasm for students to contribute to international activities and programs.”
Ir. Yuliandi, S.T., M.T., The Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, also said, “U-GIS is expected to be able to help provide information and preparations related to international seminars and hopes to also collaborate with the BEM-F.”
Additionally, U-GIS members emphasized the various networking opportunities provided by U-GIS. Students can access a broad network of professionals and like-minded individuals through partnerships with universities in other countries. This opens the door to internships, research collaborations, and future job opportunities. The faculty recognizes the potential of their students to build global connections and broaden their horizons internationally.
Overall, the visit from U-GIS members had the faculty buzzing with excitement and anticipation for implementing the U-GIS program. The faculty warmly welcomed the first batch of U-GIS members and witnessed their growth as a bridge to Unisba’s internationalization.
