Universitas Islam Bandung (Unisba) once again showed its commitment to strengthening international networks by receiving a visit from a group from the Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Bentong (SUPERB) Malaysia on Wednesday (6/11/2024). This visit was also important for both parties, as it led to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which aims to strengthen cooperation in the tri dharma of higher education.
The event was attended by the Rector, Vice Rector IV, International Office Unisba (KUI), SUPERB leaders and accompanying teachers, and 116 students from Malaysia.
Unisba Rector, Prof. Dr. H. Edi Setiadi, S.H., M.H., welcomed this cooperation. According to him, this cooperation is the first step for both parties to increase sustainable collaboration.
The Rector also said that Unisba has a scholarship program for hafidz that students can utilize. By memorizing 30 juz, they can get a tuition exemption. “Hopefully there will be students who take advantage of this scholarship opportunity. If you want free tuition, you must memorize 30 juz,” he said.
SUPERB Chairman, Mr. Wan Bukhari Bin Wan Adnan, expressed his pleasure and gratitude for the reception at the Unisba campus. According to him, this visit was carried out in the context of friendship and cooperation.
The cooperation with the signing of the MoU will not stop here, but there will be continuity.
The students from Malaysia also had the opportunity to tour the Unisba campus to obtain information about various aspects of the campus, including academics, facilities, and new student admissions. Enthusiasm can be seen from the students who are eager to participate in multiple sessions, ranging from campus introduction to exploration of Unisba’s facilities.***
