Introduction
Ramadan on campus is not only about fasting from dawn until sunset. For many of us, it is also a time to seek peace, build connections, and strengthen bonds. Amid the hustle and bustle of class schedules and internships, there is a heartwarming initiative called Global Inspired Takjil (GIT).
This program, initiated by U-GIS, was held for the second time and is also aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 2: Zero Hunger, which focuses on ensuring access to nutritious food for everyone. Through this activity, we believe that kindness knows no boundaries. On campus, the aroma of warm snacks created a unique sense of harmony. It became an opportunity to show how small acts of kindness can become meaningful moments while breaking the fast during Ramadan.
In line with the program’s goal of sharing and spreading joy, we prepared and distributed takjil to the UNISBA academic community, especially to those whose work directly contributes to the quality of the academic environment. The preparation of 150 portions of takjil took place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
After the noon prayer, our team held a briefing to ensure efficient and accurate distribution. We began distributing the iftar snacks to our closest neighbors, including colleagues at the International Office. We then continued to the rectorate building until all prepared takjil packages had been successfully distributed.
Light in the Tradition of Sharing Joy
In Islam, the spirit of giving during Ramadan holds a very noble place. As narrated in a hadith:
“Whoever feeds a fasting person will receive a reward equal to that of the fasting person, without diminishing the fasting person’s reward in the slightest.”
(HR. Tirmidzi no. 807)
Feedback on GIT
During the sharing session, we also received feedback from members of the academic community, who shared their impressions and messages with us:
“Thank you, U-GIS, for providing this Global Inspired Takjil. Hopefully, by sharing this, we can spread positivity among our colleagues here, and may it be beneficial and bring blessings.” These remarks were shared by Ms. Ratri Rizki Kusumalestari, S.SOS., M.I.KOM., Head of the University Executive Secretariat and Public Relations Office.
“Thank you to U-GIS for this iftar initiative. I appreciate U-GIS’s role as a bridge connecting UNISBA students to the international community. May U-GIS continue to excel and bring honor to the university on the global stage.” These words of appreciation and hope came from Ms. Siti Komalasari, S.SOS., M.SI., Head of the Domestic Cooperation Division.
Ms. Liza Dzulhijjah, S.H., M.H., Head of the Reasoning, Creativity, and National Mental Development Section, also shared her feedback:
“Hello, U-GIS. Thank you for the iftar snack packages for the students. We truly appreciate U-GIS’s efforts, and I can see that U-GIS is very cohesive and has many innovative activities. Hopefully, these U-GIS activities will continue to bring benefits to UNISBA. Thank you very much once again.”
Reflections from U-GIS Members on This Year’s GIT
The event did not end with the distribution alone. We also reflected on the program and gathered feedback from U-GIS members (Ugisian) regarding their experiences during this activity.
“For me personally, GIT was very enjoyable because many Ugisians gathered and prepared the takjil together. When we delivered the takjil, I honestly had mixed feelings—proud, tired, pleased, and thirsty since we were fasting 😀. It was also a special moment to spend ngabuburit time with fellow Ugisians while capturing precious moments of sharing during the holy month of Ramadan. Hopefully, the next GIT can be coordinated more neatly, and I also hope more Ugisians can lend their helping hands!” said Sekar from the Faculty of Psychology.

Conclusion
Ramadan may have passed, but we hope the legacy of kindness from Global Inspired Takjil will continue to leave a lasting impression. Thank you to the academic community and all Ugisians for your feedback, suggestions, and constructive criticism, as well as for your enthusiasm throughout the program.
The success of this event was a collective effort by everyone involved. We are grateful for the results, even though they were not yet perfect, and we have gained valuable lessons from this experience. Let us continue making our campus a place where differences and togetherness blend in gratitude and care. See you at the next takjil box! 🌙✨
